SECI was engaged to provide pre-demolition as-built surveys and SWPPP’s with erosion and sediment control Plans for several National Park Service acquisitions along the Appalachian Trail including this one near Roanoke, Virginia. Logistical challenges included a non-load bearing bridge culvert, over a mile of wet unimproved farm roads through private property, ½ mile of ATV trails, excessively deep slopes, brush and trees. With access agreements and our approved SWPPP and Erosion and Sediment Control plans in hand, the contractor effectively executed the project using Mabey portable site bridge to protect the bridge and a specialized ATV to haul materials and equipment up, and demolition debris down the mountain
